What is required to get married in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines?
Any person wishing to get married in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines will need to obtain a marriage license or a Governor General's special license.
Governor General's Licence

Costs $525.00 E.C. cash

Licence issued in one day

If both parties are foreigners, they have to be in the country 24 hours, before applying

If one party is Vincentian this does not apply (do not have to be in country 24 hours before applying)

Licence is valid for 3 months

Parties have to present both valid passports (for foreigners no foreign Birth Certificate is accepted) and copy of Original Divorce papers or Death Certificates where needed

Nationals have to present either Original Birth Certificate or Passport.
Registrar's Licence

Licence costs $15.00 Revenue Stamps

Licence is publicly posted for 7 (seven) consecutive days

If both parties are foreigners, they willl have to be in the country 15 clear days before applying, whereas if one party is a national the 15 days does not apply

Licence is valid for 3 (three) months

Foreigners have to be in the country before applying, APPLICATIONS ARE TO BE MADE IN PERSON

If either person was married before, they will need to present A COPY OF THEIR DECREE ABSOLUTE OR DEATH CERTIFICATE

Foreigners must present a valid passport as foreign birth certificates are not accepted

Nationals must present either original Birth Certificate or Passport
Marriage at Civil Registry
After obtaining licence, return to Marriage Clerk at Registry High Court

Give date for marriage

Price $50.00 revenue stamps and two witnesses on day of marriage

Marriage by Registrar is done at a cost of $150.00
Marriages at chosen location
Marriages can be performed by the Registrar or the Deputy Registrar of the High Court at you chosen location. Please contact the Marriage Clerk at the High Court for further arrangements.
