The Organization of American States OAS has implemented the Caribbean Civil Registry and Identity System (CCRIS) here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

A ceremony was held on 19th February for the handing over of the equipment to be used by the High Court Office.

The equipment includes a book drive scanner, computer work stations, network equipment and other hardware components.

Country Representative for the OAS, Melene Glynn, said that she is pleased that St. Vincent and the Grenadines is the first country to complete the computerization phase of the Caribbean Civil Registry and Identity System.

Meanwhile, Registrar at the High Court, Tamara Gibson-Marks, thanked the OAS for the contribution, as the system will greatly benefit the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
